Christmas

I just gotta say that Holidays are sooooo much funner with kids. Especially little kids. The way their faces light up and everything becomes magic is just amazing! I love it. Owen and Cal were so happy and cute! They of course, loved it all. After every single present Owen insisted on immediately opening them to play with them. Calvin just sat around being the cutest baby alive! And I am in love with his fuzzy little round head! Seriously! :) Here is Christmas morning at our house! Gotta love the shots with no makeup and in jammies!

Rocket Boots

We have been watching a lot of Incredibles lately. So when I bought Owen these snow boots that light up he fell in love. He calls them his Rocket boots and wears them ALL THE TIME! In his pajamas, in his underwear, in his clothes, in the nude. He calls them his Rocket boots like Incredibles. He then jumps around trying to be tough. Here he is first thing in the morning in some Jammies and his boots...

Santa

We had a Christmas party at our church and Santa came! We had Owen and Cal sit on his lap. Owen is actually really excited for Christmas this year so he did pretty good. He was actually just more interested in the little candy cane he was getting than Santa. Cal, well he is in this super curious grabbing at everything stage and putting it in his mouth. So the second he got on his lap, he immediately grabbed for the beard and tried to shove it in his mouth. We ended up having to have like 3 people help to detach him from Santa! haha :)

Cal-boy!

Calvin LOVES to eat! He is doing so well with solid foods. I can give him a little mum mum cracker and seriously, within seconds, it is gone. Yesterday I was feeding him carrots and he was being so happy and smiley and so cute and of course as soon as I pull out the camera he gets this distressed look on his face and stares at it like "what the heck is that thing". He was being so funny and he always gets so happy and cute when he eats. I just love my little chubbers.
ps If you're wondering where my kids get their perfectly round heads from, wonder no more...I know it's not the most flattering picture of me (I was in my jammies and hadn't gotten ready for the day yet). But I took the picture to try to catch him smiling and I didn't realize how round my own head was until I saw this.

Funny Owen

Owen is quite the card. Really, I just don't even know what to do about this kid. He is over the top in energy. He is so bright and talking so well and saying the most hilarious things. Here are a few of my favorites:

The other day, when we got up in the morning, he had some scratches on his tummy, I asked him how he got them and he said" The tigers bite me". Oh dang the night tigers that bite my son!

Owen was being extremely difficult and out of control and I told him he was being a difficult child. He got very angry and said "I NOT child mommy, I NOT a child mommy". I asked him what he was and he said "I OWEN". Later that same day, my sister said to him "See ya later alligator". Once again, "I NOT alligator, I OWEN".

He always tells the most outrageous things, like he will say that he or I or Calvin fell down the stairs when he haven't or other such stories. One night, Lee texted me and asked if I was sick or had thrown up. I told him no and he said that Owen told him that I had thrown up on the toilet.

Owen has a pair of snow boots that have lights on them. He found them in his closet and wears them constantly saying they are his rocket boots like Incredibles.

Every item in our house is now a weapon and I am constantly being told that I am being shot or punched or kicked. If he actually does hit or kick then he gets in timeout but he pretends non stop to do it anyways.

Owen is terrified of Monsters, dinosaurs and "pokey trees". Why pokey trees (I think the evergreen trees)? I don't know if he thinks they turn into monsters or what but he is ALWAYS asking about the pokey trees and if they are in the house or car. This started way before Christmas time so I know it has nothing to do with that. He loves our "Santa claus tree" and not scared of it so I am not sure what he really means by "pokey tree".

I told him if he was ever scared in the night when he woke up he could pray to Jesus so he wouldn't be scared. A few nights later we asked him what he can do when he gets scared. He told us "pray to Jesus". We then asked what he will say and he said in a very high pitched scared voice "Help me not to be scared Jesus". It was actually really adorable that he remembered that.

We took away Owens beloved best friend...his binky. The next day there was a present waiting for him and we told him the binky fairy came and took his binkys to the hospital to give to all the new babies that need binkys. It has been a week now and he still asks for it but I keep asking him what happened. He then reminds me that the fairy came, brought him hammer toy and his binkys are at the doctors for the babies. I think he is ok with the fact that they are actually somewhere and being used and not in the garbage can.
