Ultrasound

As promised, here are some pics of Owen and Uncle Clint driving the tractor! What a happy boy!On another note, yesterday we had my 22 week ultrasound and did all the measuring and all that fun stuff. He is still a boy so nothing has changed in that! It was so fun and so cute to actually see him move around. While we were looking at his profile he was moving his mouth around and then he yawned! So cute! It was seriously adorable. I love the ultrasounds because it makes it a lot more real! I can't wait to have him here! I still need to scan the pictures so I can put them up but he is adorable already, I can tell!

One year older and wiser too...

Wow, do we have a lot of things going on or what? My birthday is on Jan. 10 so we have Christmas, Anniversary, New Years and my Birthday all within 2 weeks! Crazy! I can't believe I am 26 already. I don't feel like it for sure. For the weekend of my birthday we went up to Idaho for a baby shower for Lee's sister Shanna. It just so happened that his cousin from Washington was there and all 3 of us are having boys! So we tied 3 quilts that are really cute. It was so fun to see all of our family that we don't get to see very often. Owen absolutely is obsessed with it up there. He loves that there is a lot of fun things to do and see and since he is obsessed with tractors, well, we had to deal with a lot of fits from him wanting to go out and play in the tractor! Uncle Clint took him for a ride and you should have seen his smile. He had that little boy twinkle in his eye and nothing could have made any person any happier for any reason. When I go get my camera I will post those pics. On my actual birthday, which was Sunday. We woke up and his family got me a little birthday cake and then we were on our way back home. Lee was so great and tried to make it the best. He got me some ipod speakers so I can actually listen to my ipod at home and he also got me a gift card to Nordstrom. My friends are all going to come over tomorrow night too and we are going to make Cafe Rio Burritos and have a mexican fiesta for my birthday. My only dream is to one day have a birthday where it is warm and I can lay on a beach in a bikini (and of course I have a bikini body to go with it!) haha. Someday.

Big Boy Bed!

Oh boy, what did we do? haha jk. We decided that it would be best if we could transition Owen into a toddler bed before the baby comes so he doesn't freak out about his crib being used. So about a week ago we bought the bed and put it together and didn't use it yet. I don't know if I just wasn't ready or what. I decided Monday to give it a try. Nap time was a wreck! After an hour of him just getting out and playing I put him in his crib and told Lee we needed to wait longer. But we decided to try that night for bed and I asked around for some good ideas on keeping him in his bed. Night time was actually pretty good. I think because it is dark and he can't get out and play it helps a lot. Then Tuesday I decided that if we are going to do this, we are going to do this and I took his crib apart and got some helpful tips and tried again that dreaded nap! This time we had success, but not after a while of me going in there and constantly putting him back in his bed. I had some good ideas from friends that helped us out a lot so here they are:
1.Instead of using the little toddler railing that only covers the pillow, we bought an actual bed rail that is almost the length of the entire toddler bed. This way he still feels the comfort of being confined but can still get in and out easily.
2.One of my friends suggested having a special nap book that we only read at nap times and I give it to him and tell him that if he gets out of bed I will take the book away and he won't get it tomorrow. I actually let him have books in bed for his nap because it always helped him fall asleep in the past. We used "Go Away Big Green Monster" because he loves it so I tell him if he gets out of bed I will take it away and that he needs to stay in bed and take a nap.
So far it has worked for the past 2 days. I know this is going to be a big transition and take a while before he fully understands.
I have also been changing the look of Owens room since it was babyish and I didn't love it anyways. I bought him some cute bedding and new curtains and a picture at Target and it looks so cute! I will have to post some pics of his new bed and his room when I get it all finished!
I can't believe my baby is turning into a big boy!

Twenty Weeks!

Well, I am officially halfway through my pregnancy! Only 20 more weeks to go, so crazy! I never took any pregnancy pictures of me with Owen because I felt so huge and fat and ugly but I love to see everyone else so I decided before I get too big and refuse to take pictures I would take an actual pregnancy pic. Don't mind the bedhead/no makeup! This proves I am truly pregnant! ha :) Anyways, for your viewing pleasure...here I am, halfway done!

Christmas 2009

Well I better hurry and put up Christmas pics before I forget and it becomes too late. We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day with Lee's family up in Layton. It was a lot of fun because his sister Marian and her husband Clint and our niece Andie were over. As well as his Aunt and cousin and her family on Christmas Eve. We went and walked around Layton park and looked at the lights. They were the most hilarious, random lights ever. Nothing at all to do with Christmas. Like there was a giant whale and peacock, then a dragon or dinosaur or whatnot. We loved it! After that we just spent time as a family and talked. We spent the night and woke up Christmas morning around 7. We ate breakfast and looked through stockings then did gifts. We only brought 1/3 of the presents for Owen but it was plenty. He had a great time learning to rip off wrapping paper and playing with toys! Of course I was a dummy and forgot our camera so I borrowed Lee's moms camera for a few morning shots.
He sure was spoiled between Santa and the grandparents! Santa brought him a construction truck he has been dying for! Everytime we go to the toy isle, he pulls the same ones out and plays forever. Seriously, that toy was designed specifically for Owen!
Marian brought their dog Daisy down as well. Owen just had a blast playing with her. The boy loves animals! He loved to climb all over her and pretend to ride her and just hug her. How sweet!
We then put the ornery child down for a nap and watched Harry Potter then had a wonderful meal of prime rib. After that we left and stopped by my parents for more gifts and more food. It was a great day and we got so many presents that we loved! Owen ended up with many cars, tractors and trucks, a train table, a scooter, a basketball hoop, a wagon, a guitar, some cute clothes, a train, a fridge magnet thing, and some dinosaurs. We decided to just give him a few more gifts when we got home and are saving the rest for his birthday. I guess Santa just went overboard! Lee and I got a new computer and a really nice 24 inch monitor for it, a new camera and I got a new ipod! Yea! Finally. We then went today and took some of the money we got from our parents and bought Lee a gun cabinet for all his guns. Finally they are locked up and safe and the baby's new room is officially ready to be organized!
It was a great Christmas! Christmas is seriously so much funner with kids. I must say that I was utterly exhausted from it and I am glad it is over, but it definitely was fun while it lasted! I hope everyone had just as great a Christmas! :)

High Heels

These are Owen's favorite shoes of mine. Every time he goes in my closet he pulls them out and puts them on. Should I be worried? :)
