Town Days

South Jordan had their annual "Town Days". Basically they have a carnival/fair thing come for 2 days and you can wander around booths or ride on rides. We decided to head over and see if there was anything Owen might be interested in. Luckily we met up with Celeste and Ron and their kids and went on the kid rides. Owen LOVED it with his whole heart! First he went on the motorcycle with Cambry (notice the bunjy cord seat belt that doesn't even hold him up)Next was the giant slide with Daddy!Afterwards came the roller coaster! I was nervous because I wasn't sure how he would do but he loved it. In fact, he loved it so much that he tried to climb into the other cars as it was going around (once again, no seatbelt or very flimsy rope he easily took off). The even had to stop the ride and pull him out since he kept standing up and trying to move around! Finally, he went on some boats with Keaton. This ride had a flimsy rope seatbelt and he kept climbing from the front to the back! The operator didn't seem to mind or care and kept the ride going. Oh well. Besides my wild child who kept trying to kill himself we had a lot of fun! One of these days we will have to take him to Lagoon!

One month

Today Calvin is 1 month old! It is amazing how fast the time flies. I just love and adore him with all my heart! He is such a wonderful baby and we are so happy he joined our little family. I think he is just the cutest...but I am biased as every mother should be. Here he is today! How can you NOT think he is just the most adorable baby ever?! Luckily, I finally got some shots of Owen and him together. Owen is just horrible at taking pictures so these are the first I have of the brothers together. Also, my sister took some pictures during birth so here we are holding our baby for the first time! I just love to see these pictures because they are so "in the moment". I didn't even know she was taking pictures but it is fun to see the real reactions, not posed. Can you believe the difference just one month makes! Oh I am so in love!

Jacobs Family Reunion

Well we have been busy beavers lately! We had the Jacobs side family reunion up in Wendell Idaho this past weekend so that was fun. Unfortunately, Lee's grandma got put in the hospital the week before so it was a little stressful but we still had fun seeing family! Let me just say the Owen absolutely loves to go up to Aunt Mar-mar's! He gets to drive in the tractor with "Kunkle Clint" and play around! He loves tractors and the county. Lee's sister Shanna also came into town with her baby, Gray. It was so fun to see them. He is about a month older than Calvin so it was fun to see what milestones he will be hitting next month. Lee got to bless him as well and did an awesome job! Finally, we learned that Owen loves to sing Happy Birthday. My little sister had a birthday and when we went to sing to her, Owen was literally screaming at the top of his lungs! haha. So luckily when we were in Idaho we sang Happy Birthday to Lee's Grandma and I got it on video. You can't hear him as well because sooooo many people were singing but you can still hear him above the crowd! Oh I love him!
Here he is driving the tractor with his cute cousins Morgan and Rowan.Morgan, Owen and Rowan, they had so much fun playing together. Aren't they all so cute?!
Finally, the video of Owen singing! What a doll!

blast from the past

Five years ago this was me.
I was 21 and teaching English in Ghana, Africa for a few months.
I literally lived in the most rural village in the middle of nowhere.
I loved every second of it with my entire being!
I know we shouldn't dwell in the past but I love remembering milestones like these in my life.
This was before Lee, before marriage, before pregnancy, and before my two amazing boys Owen and Calvin.
I always love looking at old pictures.
I like to look at my "old" self from the past and think, " haha you had no idea what was going to happen next."
It's always fun to see how life turns out isn't it?

bath time

At 3 weeks old, Cal's umbilical cord finally fell off! We celebrated by giving him his first real bath. He loved it and didn't cry once. I kinda felt bad taking him out of the warm water.

Nanny Phone

Yesterday, we were up in my room watching Toy movie (Toy Story). I decided to run downstairs and start the dishwasher. I left my phone up on the bed with Owen and took Calvin down with me. A few minutes later, Owen comes downstairs with my phone.
"Nanny Phone" he says. He frequently likes to pretend he is on the phone with Nanny.
"Oh, are you on the phone with nanny?"
"Hi Nanny."
"Yea, you like to talk to Nanny don't you."
Nanny phone."
"should we call Nanny so you can talk to her?"
"Nanny phone. Bye bye Owen"
He then hands me phone and to my great surprise, Nanny was on the phone!
Apparently, Lee's mom called while I was downstairs and Owen answered it and brought it to me.
What a big boy he is becoming!

2 week checkup

Well today was Calvin's 2 week checkup. He is a few days over but whatever. Anyways, no wonder he eats like it's going out of style. He is up almost a pound from birth!

7 lbs 14 oz (20-25%)
20 1/2 inches (50%)
His head was like 30% I don't remember the numbers
On to Owen...wow, the boy amazes me every day! He is adjusting like a champ (with a little, or a lot of help from Woody and Buzz). He has been letting me take care of Calvin and growing up. he has turned into a boy from a baby, makes me feel so happy and sad. Just so you don't think I have forgotten about him...here are some fun things about Owen lately-
  • He is literally obsessed with Toy Story and Wall-E. I have watched them hundreds of times in the past month! It has been a life saver at the end of my pregnancy and for recovery.
  • He can literally correctly point and name more trucks than me. Trucks I didn't even know existed. It is so cute to hear him point out all the construction trucks. He is so smart!
  • He is doing so well with Cal. He likes to try to pick him up and whenever he gives him hugs they are a little too tight. At least its hugs and kisses and not hits and bites!
  • His new favorite food is waffles with syrup and butter and speaking of...
  • He loves butter. One day I was feeding Calvin upstairs and he wandered downstairs. I hurried to finish and went down to find Owen had pushed the chair to the counter, opened up our cabinets, found Teddy Grahams and was dipping them in butter. And when I say dipping...I mean there was like 4 inches of butter on each teddy graham! Yuck! He also likes to just dip his fingers in and eat it and say "yum" (although I do recall me doing the same thing as a child). Of course I am not encouraging this. It usually is when I am in the other room or my back is turned and I turn to find him in the butter.
  • He has been obsessed with playing in the water. I wish he couldn't climb or push chairs to the counters! We finally bought him a little water table that has all these cool toys to play in the water and a track going around. He is loving it!
