September

Life is starting to settle down again. I basically spent most my time at the hospital this past month so I didn't get out to do much or take many pictures but here are some cuties of my boys! We did go to the zoo so that was a good time when Owen wasn't being ornery. haha. Oh and we had a birthday party and Elmo came to visit. Owen was absolutely terrified and wouldn't let me put him down. Poor Elmo.Owen and Calvin at the zoo.
The love of my life! Owen took this picture. He is getting good. This is a happy squeal. It is hilarious.Ashton (birthday boy being hugged) and Zac (neighborhood friend) with Elmo. Of course I don't have one with Owen but you can catch my drift.
I am soooo excited for October to be here with all the fun Halloween activities. You can bet your bottom that I will be posting more in the upcoming weeks ;)

sick of hospitals

These past 3 weeks have been absolutely out of control crazy. I don't even know where it went. I spent all my time at the hospital, gym or home asleep. My ward and parents ward and family members helped out to find babysitters for my kids so we could be at the hospital so much. I don't even want to step foot in the IMC hospital ever again! Anyways, mom is doing better. Her concussion has gone down so she can actually carry on a conversation and understand what has happened. She has felt down quite a bit and really frustrated but she has already gotten so much stronger already it's amazing. We moved her to an inpatient rehabilitation center for about a month to help her out. It is so nice to know that she has nurses to help out at all times. When she does finally go home, my older sister is going to move in to help out. This has been an amazing journey for my whole family. Something fun people might know is that my mom also teaches aerobics and we teach at the same rec center. So I have picked up all her classes and literally been teaching EVERY day! I did find someone to take one night so now I only have 5 days I am teaching. It is a good thing I like teaching and think it's fun!! :) Plus a blessing in disguise for us getting some extra income especially with Christmas coming! PLUS it might even help me to lose the last 15 lbs of baby weight! Well that was the short update. I have pictures to post of the few things we did but I don't have my camera so I will do that later.

update on my mommy!

Wow. That's all. The past day and a half has been absolutely crazy. My mom was in a serious accident and rather than re-tell everything, I just copied my sisters update on Facebook so please feel free to read on about my mom and exactly what happened.

First and foremost, I need to thank you ALL for everything. Even though there's not much anyone can do, we have felt the love from you all and your prayers have been a HUGE source of comfort for not only us, but for her! All we can ask is that you keep praying.
Her condition right now is teetering between serious and stable, but leaning more on the stable side. She is in and out of consiousness, saying words that don't make much sense, but she recognizes us and will wear a smile if you joke around. She seems to be in good spirits. I'm sure the drugs might have a little something to do with that.

As for her injuries - let's start at the bottom: her knees are bothering her. They did x-rays and didn't see anything broken. She had some pretty large lacerations requiring some staples to hold it together. There may be some nerve damage. The dr.'s are still evaluating that. There's a chance that the damage could be permanent which would mean weakness on that leg. Her pelvis is broken and seperated from the hip-bone all the way to the end of the joint. It is pretty severe and will require surgery. They will place a plate on her hip and another in her back and screw those together. Those will probably become permanent fixtures for her. She has serious bruising on her arms and elbows. Her shoulder is broken and her shoulder blade is cracked. They will put a plate in that and screw it together as well. She's going to be iron woman before this is all over, right?! :)

She also has some orbital fractures on her face. The right side hit the pavement and her face is black/blue on that side. That can be fixed with plastic surgery which is least on the priority list at this point. If it does take place, it will most likely be sometime early next week. That is the extent of the injuries at this point. There are some cracks and things in her clavical, but for now, we are just trying to make her comfortable and keep the pain at bay. They are going to perform the surgery Friday and they will do her pelvis as well as her shoulder. We are all trying to be as postive as possible. The dr.'s are pretty confident that she'll make it and knowing her, she'll probably make a complete recovery and be up and at em in 6 months...! ha ha ha

As for what happened. She was riding her bike around the area of 11818 S. and 3770 West. She was heading east (i'm assuming she was headed home) and a full-size suburban was attempting to turn left. The suburban driver didn't see her as she was crossing the road and hit her from the side. Mom was flown onto the hood of the car and up into the winshield, and then was flown back about 30 feet onto the pavement. The woman driving didn't have her cell phone in the car so the neighbor heard all the commotion and called the paramedics, they came and took her to Riverton hospital where they had Life Flight waiting and they flew her to IMC in Murray. She's in ICU. I think the hospital has an email system where you can send notes. She can't have flowers or much of anything, so the best would be to send emails and we can read them to her..

Visitors are being limited to family only right now where she can only see 2 at a time. They are taking incredible care of her and being very protective of her which is nice to know. I'm amazed at the staff here. We couldn't ask for better! Keep her in your prayers! Thanks!

cookie dough

Look at the little thug in his I-heart-My Daddy tshirt! Love his little shoes and jeans. I love everything that is little anyways, so babies are the funnest.
Calvin and his first girlfriend Audrey. They are only 12 days apart. Neither of them look like they go hungry!! :) Calvin was in mid sentence here...Spit bubbles! The best part about making cookies, is eating the cookie dough. Just ask Owen. He loves to lick the mixing wisk when I am done.

Here it is!

Calvin is really really hard to get to smile. So today he was giving me big smiles so I grabbed the camera. Unfortunately he decided the camera was much to interesting to give big smiles to but I did sneak in a small one. This is the first smile picture we have! What a doll! :)
Also, he was talking to the camera a lot so I got a few other cute ones of him talking. He has the roundest head ever! haha I love it.
And, just because he is the cutest baby ever here are a few more of his sweet face! Oh how I love this kid! :)

How to Train your Dragon

We decided to take Owen to an actual movie at the theater. Well, Lee did. We thought the dollar movie would be best just in case it didn't work out. So Lee and Owen went to the dollar movies and saw How to Train your Dragon. Owen just played around then finally sat in Lee's lap and fell asleep. Go figure. He sure was excited to tell me about the popcorn and drink he got though!

I love this

When God leads you to the edge of the cliff, trust Him fully and let go, only 1 of 2 things will happen, either He'll catch you when you fall, or He'll teach you how to fly!- Unknown
